Reward Now - Recognizing and Rewarding Excellence

There are two separate University-wide recognition programs. One is an ongoing program called Reward Now. At any time, any employee, student or outside visitor to the University may complete a commendation form for any employee in the University who impressed them in some special way by providing outstanding service. These forms are sent to the Office of Human Resources for review and verification. Each commendation in the fiscal year is awarded as follows:

• First Commendation: Thank you card from the president
• Second Commendation: Award certificate
• Third Commendation: $25 gift check

Commendation forms are located in many areas of each campus. If you need assistance locating the posters with the forms, call ext. 3582.

Employee Recognition Ceremony and Reception

The other, more formal program is an annual award ceremony recognizing outstanding service and employment milestones. The Employee Recognition Ceremony and Reception is held each spring semester. Employees are nominated during a specific time period, for service performed during the academic year. All employees are eligible to be nominated. The Employee Recognition Committee, which is composed of faculty, staff and student representatives, choose the recipients from among the nominees.

• Excellence in Teaching Award
• Student Employee of the Year

Additionally, the University honors those who have worked more than 10 years at designated landmark anniversaries. Details on the program are provided each spring through mailings and notices in the HR Headlines. Questions may be directed to the Office of Human Resources at ext. 2198.
