Annual Leave Days

Eligibility

Article 7, Section 1. For Classes A, full-time E, F, G, and H employees of less than four and one-half (4 ½) years seniority as of the first day of any month, annual leave shall accumulate at the rate of two (2) days per month up to a maximum of thirty-six (36) days. Classes B, part-time E, F, G and H employees shall accumulate annual leave on a pro-rata basis. The maximum for Class B and part-time E, F, G and H employees will be pro-rated. An employee absent without pay will not earn annual leave for the time absent.

Employees shall not begin to accumulate annual leave until after they have been employed for thirty (30) days.

Accrual

Article 7, Section 2. For Classes A and full-time F, G and H employees of four and one-half (4 ½) years or more seniority as of the first day of any month, annual leave shall accumulate at the rate of two and one-half (2 ½) days per month up to a maximum of forty (40) days. Classes B and part-time F, G and H employees shall accumulate annual leave on a pro-rata basis. The maximum for Classes B and part-time F, G and H employees will be pro-rated. An employee absent without pay will not earn annual leave for the time absent.

Section 3. When a Class A or full-time Class E, F, G or H employee has accumulated the maximum of his annual leave, thirty-six (36) or forty (40) days, whichever is applicable, and is requested and agrees to work, the employee will not lose annual leave because of this work. This section also applies to the pro-rated maximum for Classes B and part-time E, F, G and H employees.

Usability

Section 4.
A. Annual leave may be used at any time by mutual agreement between the employee and his supervisor. No more than fifteen (15) days may be taken at one time by employees of less than ten (10) years service, except by mutual agreement between the employee and the supervisor, or in the case of illness.

B. For employees of ten (10) or more years service, annual leave may be taken at any time by mutual agreement between the employee and his supervisor. No more than twenty (20) days may be taken at one time, except by mutual agreement between the employee and the supervisor, or in the case of illness.
