Saving for your retirement is a very important step in planning for your future, but as you get closer to your retirement date, there are other points of consideration for you to review. You should consider:

  • Check in with Human Resources to review your options regarding continuation of insurance benefits
  • Visit the TIAA-CREF and/or Fidelity websites to view your investments and see what online tools are available for retirement planning
  • Make an appointment with a TIAA-CREF and/or Fidelity representative
  • Examine and review your other retirement benefit sources
  • Review your tax plans with an accountant, financial planner, or tax attorney
  • Update or set up a will or trust
  • Review and update your beneficiary information
  • Contact your local Social Security Office or go online for information at www.ssa.gov.
  • Obtain and review the Medicare Handbook by calling 800-722-1213
    Attend financial planning seminars
