Worker’s Compensation
Adjunct Faculty | Human Resources

The University provides benefits under the State of Illinois Worker’s Compensation and Occupational Diseases Acts. Most job-related injuries or diseases are covered under Worker’s Compensation Insurance; they are not covered under any of the University’s health insurance plans.

The law requires that you report any illness or injury on the job, no matter how slight. If you fail to report an injury, your right to collect worker’s compensation payment may be jeopardized.

Any injury, however minor, must be reported on an accident / incident report form immediately or as soon as physically possible. You may obtain a copy of the incident report form by clicking here. The forms must be completed and signed in the presence of a security guard. Reports are then filed with the University’s worker’s compensation carrier for claim processing.

An injured employee is entitled to receive all necessary first aid, medical, surgical, and hospital services reasonably required to sure of relieve the effects o the injury of disease. Where necessary, the employee is also entitled to receive appropriate physical, mental, or vocational rehabilitation.
