First Year Seminar
About the First Year Seminar (FYS 100) The goal of the First Year Seminar course is to establish relationships with students and connect them to the University; introduce students to the RU community and campus resources; and help students make connections to peers. Program Description FYS 100 is an eight-week course designed to assist students with the transition to college by connecting them to peers, faculty, staff, and university resources. The class is an extension of the university's orientation programs. Classes are taught by a staff/faculty instructor and a peer leader. The course is graded with a pass/fail. The class is a requirement for graduation and all new students under 24 years old transferring less than 15 credit hours are required to enroll in FYS 100.
