Admission Requirements and Procedures Individuals wishing to take courses through the External Studies Program need to apply for admission to Roosevelt University. For information regarding admission requirements and procedures, please consult the Roosevelt University Undergraduate or Graduate Bulletin available through the Office of Admissions. External Studies Program courses are open to all Roosevelt students. Degree seeking students need to get permission from their academic advisor before registering for an external course; students-at-large (non-degree seeking students) do not need to meet with an advisor. External study offers individuals the flexibility of study independent of the classroom. External students are able to study wherever they choose and at their own pace. This freedom from the classroom depends on student strengths in the following areas:
Any student planning to enroll in an external course should remember that the printed word and written exchanges are the primary learning modes, and that external students are required to establish and maintain their own schedules of study. Students have six months from the date of registration to complete an ESP course. Many students choose to finish in less time. Prerequisites for External Courses External courses are fully equivalent to on-campus courses, and therefore, prerequisites for a specific external course are identical to those for its on-campus equivalent. Course prerequisites, if any, are listed with course descriptions in the Roosevelt University Bulletin or class schedule. Request Further Information Request a university catalog, information packet, or application for admission. |
