Recent College of Professional Studies faculty and staff accomplishments

The Evelyn T. Stone College of Professional Studies, formerly the College of Continuing Education, was founded in 1966 to serve adult students 24 years of age or older through its Bachelor of General Studies (BGS) Program. Since then the college has added a variety of programs serving diverse student populations of all ages. All of our programs share a common philosophy:

  education is enhanced by making use of the prior learning of the student as well as the formal expertise of the faculty member;

  academic programs should be adaptable to the personal and professional needs of the student;

  general education requirements can be satisfied through a series of integrating seminars focusing on both academic skills and interdisciplinary understanding;

  high quality academic advising is a crucial aspect of a successful degree program.
