Initial Advising
Minor in Secondary Education
Secondary Education | College of Education

Initial advising is typically arranged by meeting with the advising coordinator for the program. Fran Baumgartner is currently serving as initial advisor for Schaumburg campus undergraduates and Dr. Tom Thomas is currently serving as initial advisor for Chicago campus undergraduates.

The initial advising session typically includes an evaluation of general education coursework and major degree equivalence in the area of certification as well as establishing a program of study and timetable. The advising worksheets used for this initial review are maintained electronically throughout the student’s academic career and are provided below as a Word document.
