Initial Advising Graduate students in special education are assigned to an advisor within the College of Education. Initial advisement includes a check of undergraduate general education requirements and the development of a program plan that fits each student’s time frame and availability. Click here for the advising form template used for graduate students in Special Education (Word, 174K). Because we believe that advising is an important part of teaching, you will be assigned to one advisor to help you through the program from your first class through graduation and certification. Pre-registration advisement takes place in November for spring and summer terms and in April for fall term. Because courses fill it is always a good idea to schedule an appointment with your advisor and register during these periods of time set aside for that purpose. If you are a graduate special education major in Chicago, please see Maria Earman Stetter for advisement. You can reach her at 312-341-2353 or by email at canderson@roosevelt.edu. If you are a graduate special education major at the Robin campus in Schaumburg, please see Dorota Celinska for advisement. You can reach her at (847) 619-8829 or by email at dcelinsk@roosevelt.edu.
