Graduate Assistantships
College of Education

Each year the College of Education seeks graduate assistants in some of the following areas:

  • Early Childhood Education Program
  • Department of Elementary Education
  • Department of Secondary Education
  • Department of Counseling and Human Services
  • Special Education Program
  • Masters in Reading Program (part-time)
  • Department of Educational Leadership
  • Certification Office

These positions give graduate students an opportunity to do research and work closely with department chairs and faculty in the College of Education. 

Full-time graduate assistants’ tuitions are paid for 18 credit hours and they additionally receive a stipend in the amount of $650.00 for 8 months. Part-time graduates assistants’ tuitions are paid for 9 credit hours and they additionally receive a stipend for $325.00 for 8 months.  All credit hours paid for by a graduate assistant position must be for courses applying to a master’s degree.

Applying

Applications for graduate assistant positions are accepted beginning in January.  Applications are reviewed between March and May, and graduate assistants are hired before August 1, 2006. 

 To apply, fill out an application and submit it to Cathy Lymon, Executive Secretary to the Dean in the College of Education.  Applications will then be forwarded to the appropriate department chairs and directors upon their request.
