Disability Services | Current Students

Roosevelt University adheres to the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (1990), the Rehabilitation Act (1973), Section 504 and Title 1X of the Education Amendment of 1972. No qualified individual with a disability shall, on the basis of disability, be excluded from participation in, or be denied the benefits of this institution’s classes or facilities, including, but not limited to, any academic, research, occupational training, housing, health insurance, counseling, financial aid, physical education, athletics, recreation, transportation, other extracurricular, or other postsecondary education aid, benefits, or services. The University has made and will continue to make reasonable modifications in policies, practices, procedures, and/or facilities when such modifications were / are necessary, to accommodate the needs of disabled individuals. The Academic Success Center has been designated to coordinate compliance with the nondiscrimination requirements contained in Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990.

Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 prohibits discrimination on the basis of handicap in any program or activity receiving federal financial assistance. DS, in conjunction with the 504 Access Committee, works to ensure that reasonable accommodations are made to provide programmatic and physical access.

The University also complies with Title IX in that it does not discriminate on the basis of sex in any student program, activity, service or benefit. It guarantees students of both sexes equal access to educational and extracurricular programs and activities.
