Double Click on the hard drive of your computer.

Double Click on Applications folder.

 

Double Click on Utilities folder.

 

Double Click on Printer Setup Utility icon.

 

While holding down the Option (ALT) Key, Click the Add button.

In the first drop down menu choose advanced.  On the second drop down choose  LPD/LPR Host or Printer.

 

Enter your printer Device Name in the appropriate box.  The Device Name consists of the Building (ex. AUD), underscore, Room number (ex. 264), underscore, Printer Type (ex. HP9000). This should be located on the label on your printer (see below for example).

For the device URL should be entered as follows: lpd:// Buildingruprt01/Device name, where Building is your building and Device name is your printer name.

Select your printer model (in most cases this will be HP) scroll down and select your printer (ex.  HP Laserjet 9000 series).

Click Add.

Your final configuration should look similar to the one below. If this not your main printer select your main printer and click the Make Default Icon.
