RU Directory

Another Opera search enhancement

If you're using Opera, you probably know you can search Goggle by typing a "g" in the address bar followed by your search term. Did you know you can search the faculty/staff directory in the same way? By editing Opera's search.ini file (back it up first, of course) you can add a key letter, like "r," and have Opera search the directory. If you've unsure what or where the search.ini file is, check out this page.

Here's the information you'll need to add to your search.ini file:

[Search Engine 4]
Name=&RU Directory
URL=http://www2.roosevelt.edu/dir/results-people-zzz.asp?strinbox1=%s
Query=
Key=r
Is post=0
Has endseparator=0
Encoding=iso-8859-1
Search Type=40
Verbtext=17063
Nameid=0
Position=-1

Note that the key is "r" This means that in Opera's address bar you can enter r and the name you are searching for, press Enter, and your search will be performed. Sample search in the address bar: r jones Also note that the Search Engine number is 4. That means it will be the 4th engine listed within Opera's right-click menu. You can change this number, but make sure all of your search engines are listed in numerical order in the search.ini file, and no two search engines have the same number.
