Lab and Classroom Software
Academic Computing Handbook 2007-2008 | DoIT

Software used by students across all colleges and programs is installed on lab and classroom computers and financed from the budget of the Division of Information Technology. Software that is used only by students in one or a small number of programs must be financed by the department and college that is home to the program(s) using it. For a listing of applications currently available in the labs and classrooms see http://www.roosevelt.edu/doit/labs/stdsoftware.htm.

The computer labs and classrooms are supervised and managed by the ETRC department of DoIT. Technical support for the equipment and software is the responsibility of DoIT Technology Systems.

Requests for new software should be submitted to the help desk (online at http://www.roosevelt.edu/helpdesk or by phone at 312-341-4357). New requests for instructional software must be made well in advance of the start of each semester. Software is installed in computer classrooms during a narrow window of opportunity that exists between semesters. It is seldom possible to install new software after that time. No software may be installed in computer classrooms or labs by instructors themselves or students themselves at any time.

Software licensing requirements and copyrights are strictly observed at all times.
