The CIO and the Division of
Information Technology The Division of Information Technology (DoIT) is responsible for computer, network, and voice technologies and services. DoIT is led by the Vice President for Technology and Chief Information Officer (CIO), Brad Reese. DoIT comprises three departments, each under the direction of an associate vice-president: Academic Technology and User Services (Brett Sutton), Technology Administration (Elizabeth Thomas), and Technology Systems (Neeraj Kumar). Academic Technology and User Services has two primary areas of responsibility. The Educational Technology Resource Center is responsible for faculty support, classroom technology, multimedia services, and supervision of the computing labs. User services provides a range of support services for students, faculty and staff, maintains the technology help desk service, and handles communications and documentation. Technology Administration is responsible for divisional budgeting, university and inter-departmental computer and software procurement and delivery, university computer equipment inventory, management of network adds and moves, administration of new employee electronic resources, online directories, and project management. Technology Systems covers computer support and repair, maintenance of all telecommunications systems, application development and maintenance, wired and wireless networking, operations, and security. This department also manages the Banner enterprise system, the university's system for managing student and administrative information. [Rev. 27 September 2007] |
