Student Support Services/Project Prime
TRIO Programs

Associate Director - Andrea Egle

Student Support Services/Project Prime is a Federal TRIO Program sponsored by the United States Department of Education. It is an academic support program designed to improve the retention and graduation rates of 260 low-income, first generation, and disabled students enrolled at Roosevelt's Chicago Campus. The program's academic support services include personal, academic, and career counseling, and assistance in obtaining financial aid. The needs of the students accepted in the program are thoroughly assessed and individualized prescriptive plans are developed for each participant.

All new Roosevelt University students that meet the Student Support Services/ Project Prime program eligibility requirements are encouraged to participate in the Summer Bridge program.  This six-week summer, non-credit orientation is structured to introduce students to the demands of college life, and examine their level of academic proficiency.  The program is also aimed at providing students with the opportunity to learn about various study skills strategies and techniques that can be beneficial for their academic success at Roosevelt University.  Students will have the opportunity to take classes taught by college professors in order to become familiar with college coursework.  In addition to joining a cohort of other incoming Roosevelt University students, the program also includes summer activities such as: field trips, guest speakers, and cultural events. All Project Prime services are free for program participants.
