Pick Up Your CTA U-Pass The Chicago Transit Authority U-Pass is your ticket to unlimited riding aboard CTA buses and trains. Use your U-Pass on CTA bus/rail system anytime, anywhere, for any reason. It's your connection to shopping, sports events, social activities, and all the things Chicago has to offer. Roosevelt students may use their pass beginning Aug. 26. The cost for the U-Pass is $97 per semester and will be automatically billed to your student account. Participation in the program is mandatory for full-time (12 credit hours for undergraduates, nine credit hours for graduate students and six credit hours for doctoral students), degree-seeking Chicago Campus students. Part-time students are not eligible for the U-Pass and may not receive or purchase a U-Pass. Pick up your pass in the Auditorium Building on one of these days. Look for signs with the location. Be sure to have your RU ID and a current copy of your class schedule:
If you do not pick up your pass between Aug. 24 and Sept. 2, you may have to wait up to 10 business days to receive your pass. For more information, call 312-341-2443. Click here for more information. Schaumburg students may also be eligible for the U-Pass program. Please contact Jessica Berek at jberek@roosevelt.edu if you are interested in learning more.
Over the summer and early fall, several projects are underway to improve facilities for students on campus:
- Creating the new Wabash Lounge the end of the second floor overlooking Wabash Ave. with four public computers, lounge furniture and a microwave (see photo on the left). - Creating a new adjunct faculty office suite in Room 560 so all adjunct faculty offices (except CCPA) will be in one location. - Restoring the north stairwell. Gage Building - Lighting in the Commons lounge areas is being improved. Schaumburg Campus - Expanding the fitness center to include a dance studio space as well as additional fitness equipment.
Study abroad is a once in a lifetime chance to travel, study and live in a foreign country. It can deepen your knowledge and understanding of international, political, and economic issues. It can also enhance your employment prospects. Even though studying abroad can do wonders for your foreign language skills, you don’t have to be fluent in a foreign language to study abroad. While pursuing a degree at Roosevelt, you will have the opportunity to study abroad for a semester, summer or academic year. You can earn Roosevelt credit for your pre-approved study abroad program, and your study abroad experience will be noted on your transcript. Study abroad can be highly affordable, and there are many wonderful scholarship opportunities available. Students eligible for financial aid can apply some or all of their aid awards towards study abroad programs. Seize the opportunity! Click here for more information.
Move-In If you are living on campus, welcome home! Residence hall move-in is Thursday, August 27. CCPA theatre students are scheduled for an early move-in date.
