Community Service
Center for Student Involvement

Since part of the mission of Roosevelt University is “to promote a more humane and just society,” the Center for Student Involvement (CSI) encourages students to connect with their community through a variety of volunteer and service opportunities throughout the year.

Students may learn about different community service organizations during the RU Community Service Fair in the fall semester. Representatives from different organizations provide students with information about possible volunteer opportunities and community service in the surrounding communities. Students may collect information or sign up for volunteer positions with any of the organizations. Students also have the opportunity to learn about upcoming community service opportunities offered on campus throughout the year.

Service in Our Community

Service projects are offered throughout the year and are featured in the CSI monthly activities calendar. There are also toy, food, clothing, blood, and supply drives throughout the year. The personal rewards are many when you give your time and talents to any of the diverse community service organizations. Your work not only adds to your own educational enrichment, but helps to foster an environment which benefits a great number of people. New Deal Service Days

The university hosts an annual spring event called New Deal Service Days. New Deal Days, held in Chicago and Schaumburg, connects students, faculty, staff and alumni with local service agencies for a "hands on" opportunity to help others. To learn more about New Deal Service Days, click here.
