Gamma Theta Chi, a multicultural sorority that supports community, diversity, friendship and teamwork, recruited new members on Wednesday, September 20 at Roosevelt University’s Chicago Campus. Gamma Theta Chi was one of a number of organizations participating in Premier, a fair for student clubs.

The Roosevelt University Board of Trustees held its annual retreat on Saturday, September 16 at the Schaumburg Campus. During the meeting, Board Chairman James J. Mitchell III makes a point about real estate development in downtown Chicago, while Charles Gardner, chair of the Board’s Facilities Committee, listens.

Chuck Middleton, President of Roosevelt University, and Qiuhong Lang, vice president of Shijiazhuang Posts and Telecommunications Technical College (SPT), signed a cooperative relationship agreement on Monday, Sept. 11 creating a joint bachelor’s degree in computer science. The program will allow Chinese students to study for the first three years at SPT and in the fourth year transfer to Roosevelt to earn a B.S. in computer science.

Vice President for Institutional Advancement Tom Minar thanked members of the Roosevelt community who made contributions in the 2005-06 fiscal year to the University during a luncheon in their honor on Sept. 11. During this period, 143 employees made contributions to Roosevelt totaling $47,000.

Several television stations covered Senator Dick Durbin’s (D-IL) talk on Friday, September 8 to Roosevelt University classes. This is the second time Senator Durbin has visited the Chicago Campus   He also held a press conference earlier this year at the Schaumburg Campus.
