Laura Mills, who was recently appointed as the University's first full-time archivist, has begun categorizing documents pertaining to the University's history. She also will be organizing items from the University's Center for New Deal Studies, Chicago College of Performing Arts and Auditorium Theatre. "We've had librarians working on and off in the past on our archives, but this is the first time we've had a full-time archivist whose charge is to pull all four of our collections together in one data base and eventually under one roof," said Mary Beth Riedner, University librarian.

Roosevelt University students Jessica Salazar and Roosevelt Haywood wait to speak at a press conference U.S. Senator Dick Durbin held in the University's Sullivan Room Friday afternoon. The students explained how important financial aid and Pell Grants are in financing their educations. During the press conference, Senator Durbin called on President Bush to approve the College Cost Reduction Act of 2007, which provides $20 billion in additional college aid and includes a provision to cut student interest rates in half. Robert Fitzpatrick, assistant vice president of Campus Safety and Transportation, displays a fake bomb which was planted on the Schaumburg Campus on Thursday morning as part of a drill to test the University's emergency preparedness procedures. The Office of Human Resources held a training class for hiring managers on Thursday to learn about Roosevelt's new hiring and applicant tracking system, PeopleAdmin. PeopleAdmin will streamline the internal processes for hiring managers and provide improved feedback to candidates during the recruitment process.
