At a press conference in the Sullivan Room on Tuesday, Miguel del Valle, Chicago's City Clerk, thanks Paul Roldan (far right), president of the Hispanic Housing Development Corporation, for making a $100,000 contribution to Roosevelt University to provide scholarships for Latino students interested in attending Roosevelt's Chicago School of Real Estate. Members of the Chinese delegation representing the Beijing Statistical Bureau visited Roosevelt University on Oct. 18 to meet with University administrators and faculty to discuss the current partnership. The cohort of 21 employees of the Beijing Statistical Bureau has been living in Chicago and studying at Roosevelt, earning their Master of Public Administration degree. The cohort will graduate in December. The partnership with the Beijing Statistical Bureau exemplifies the University's global outreach and its far-reaching impact for international relations in the future.

Cozette Buckney, adjunct professor of Educational Leadership, describes how Hurricane Katrina has impacted the education of children in New Orleans. Dr. Buckney is currently working in New Orleans with Paul Vallas, former Chicago Public School CEO, to reopen schools there. The event took place in Roosevelt's Spertus Lounge on Oct. 18 with the collaboration of the Mansfield Institute for Social Justice.

President Chuck Middleton gives opening comments at a Town Hall meeting on Oct. 9 sponsored by the Chicago Campus Redevelopment Committee. Goldie Wolfe (BSBA, '67) returned to her alma mater last week to discuss her career and the field of real estate at a luncheon for women leaders in real estate, sponsored by the Roosevelt's Marshall Bennett Institute of Real Estate. Earlier this year, Wolfe, one of the country's most successful real estate brokers, made a generous contribution to Roosevelt University’s Chicago School of Real Estate to provide new opportunities for women in commercial real estate.
