| Roosevelt University’s Mansfield Institute for Social Justice co-sponsored a panel discussion on Gender Based Violence in a Global Context November 20 at the Chicago Campus. Among the speakers was Dr. Mardge Cohen, CORE Center for the Prevention, Care and Research of Infectious Diseases, who talked about gender based violence and HIV in Rwanda. Heather Dalmage, associate professor of sociology and director of the Mansfield Institute for Social Justice, was an organizer of the discussion. |

| A celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Tenants Bill of Rights was held in the Congress Lounge at Roosevelt on November 20. Featuring talks by Cook County Clerk David Orr, Congressman Danny Davis, John Bartlett of the Metropolitan Tenants Organization and others, the program examined the future of tenants’ rights in Chicago. Jeffrey Edwards, associate professor of political science, helped arrange the event. |

Roosevelt University President Chuck Middleton was among 12 inductees honored at the 2006 Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame ceremonies on Tuesday, November 14, at the Chicago Cultural Center. Here, Dr. Middleton receives his award from Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley, who was also an inductee.
The Chicago Commission on Human Relations’ Advisory Council on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Issues names the honorees to this Hall of Fame, the only known government-sponsored hall of fame that honors members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities. |

The coffee house, located in the lobby of the Auditorium Building, is open Mondays through Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and on Fridays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. |

The book describes Chicago hotels operating between the Great Chicago Fire of 1871 and World War I. |
