| Andrew Grams, assistant conductor of the Cleveland Orchestra, was the guest conductor at Vivid ’07, the Chicago College of Performing Arts (CCPA) largest concert of the season. More than 1,100 people attended the performance on Monday, March 26 in the Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University. The concert also featured CCPA faculty soloists Robert Chen, concertmaster of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra (CSO), John Sharp, principal cellist of the CSO, and Meng-Chieh Liu, an Avery Fisher Career Grant winner. |

| At the Near South Planning Board luncheon titled “Chicago 2016 Stir the Soul” on Thursday, March 22, President Chuck Middleton (left) introduced the keynote speaker, Doug Arnot, director of venues and operations for the Chicago 2016 Exploratory Olympic Committee. Arnot discussed the committee’s plans for hosting the 2016 Summer Olympics and presented computer images of the possible sites for various sports. President Middleton is a member of the planning committee for the 2016 Olympics. |

One of Roosevelt’s Institute for Continued Learning (ICL) peer leaders, Stan Gorcik, talks about immigration patterns in the United States. His study group, “The Immigration Story,” discusses how and why the many ethnic groups came to the United States. With over 400 members, the ICL offers active adults age 50 years and better the opportunity for lifelong, peer-led learning opportunities, featuring study groups and lecture series.
