Admission Requirements and Procedures Students are urged to file their complete application early in the semester preceding the term in which they hope to enroll. Deadlines for Admission:
The Women’s and Gender Studies (WGS) Admission committee will consider applications after deadlines if space is available. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed. Women's and Gender Studies MA program admission requirements 2) A Roosevelt University Application for Graduate Admission, including the non-refundable application fee of $25. You may apply online or download
an application at: http://www.roosevelt.edu/admission/graduate 4) An 8-15 page scholarly or professional writing sample (Your submission may be a paper accepted for previous coursework; an authored report for a community or political organization, or a published article.) 5) Two letters of recommendation addressed to the Women’s and Gender Studies Admission Committee (Letters from college or university faculty with whom you have worked are preferred. Alternatively, letters from references who can attest to your scholarly abilities and/or your professional experience may be submitted.) 6) A list composed by the applicant of all completed WGS-related courses. Include level (undergraduate or graduate), course title, and department (Courses may be from multiple disciplines. Students with little or no academic background in WGS may be required to enroll in undergraduate WGS coursework at Roosevelt as a pre-requisite for graduate study.) 7) Official transcripts from all colleges or universities attended at the undergraduate or graduate level (Unofficial copies may be used for preliminary review in some circumstances.) 8) Minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale 9) GRE not required but may be submitted at applicant's discretion Application Submission Procedure All materials should be submitted to the Office of Admission at either of our two campuses: Chicago Campus: Schaumburg Campus: NOTE: Although candidates are welcome to submit their applications to our Schaumburg campus, please note that the WGS master’s of arts program is a Chicago campus program. Completed applications will be reviewed for admission by the Women’s and Gender Studies faculty committee. Please direct any further questions about admission requirements or procedures to: Financial Aid Roosevelt offers financial aid to graduate students through such federal programs as guaranteed student loans and work-study. University-based assistance may also be available to qualifying students through the Graduate Scholarship program. More information is available at http://www.roosevelt.edu/financialaid/graduate. In addition, admitted WGS students are eligible to apply for one of the two competitive Graduate Assistantships (see http://www.roosevelt.edu/financialaid/graduate/assistantships.htm) available in the College of Arts and Sciences and the Grace Mary Stern Scholarship (see http://www.roosevelt.edu/cas/wgs/sch-grace.htm).
