Welcome to the I/O Program at RU
I would like to take this time to welcome you to the Industrial/Organizational Psychology program at Roosevelt University. The program has a rich mixture of faculty with both theoretical and applied research interests. Early in your program you should talk with a variety of faculty to learn their research interests, particularly if you plan to conduct a thesis or pursue doctoral work. Many of our faculty welcome graduate students as research collaborators. We are excited to announce the creation of a PhD in I/O Psychology. The program will start to accept students in the next few years. This new program will be a great addition to our already outstanding master’s level training program. Our MA in I/O Psychology has approximately 100 students and is offered at both our Chicago and Schaumburg campuses. Students enroll in rigorous coursework and cap off the program with either a thesis or practicum. As our program grows, so does our faculty. We currently have four full-time I/O faculty members. Our newest faculty member, Nicole Gravina, will start in the fall 2008 semester. Nicole comes to us from Western Michigan University. Her interests include applying the principles of behavior to organizational problems in order to develop effective interventions for improving organization functioning, service delivery, and safety. Once again, we welcome your interest in our I/O Psychology program and sincerely hope that this letter along with other departmental materials, will enable you to make an informed decision about applying. If you have additional questions after reading all these materials, we will gladly answer them. In the meantime, good luck in your pursuit of graduate education!
