Fall 2006: Quigley and Roeser to Teach at Roosevelt University Cook County Commissioner Mike Quigley and political pundit Tom Roeser will teach courses this fall at Roosevelt University’s Chicago Campus. Quigley will teach Environmental Policy and Politics (POS 358/458) at 6 p.m. on Thursdays, starting Sept. 7. The course will examine the history of the American and international environmental movements and introduce students to the key policymakers who have shaped those movements over the years. An outspoken voice for change in Cook County, Quigley is an advocate of lower taxes, improved services, better forest preserves and more efficient, ethical government. Roeser’s course is Special Topics: Current Political Trends (POS 390-10). It also will be taught at 6 p.m. on Thursdays, starting Sept. 7. The course will provide students with information on the latest political trends at the national and state levels. It will feature prominent guest speakers who will comment on issues and upcoming political contests. Roeser is a well known political analyst, radio personality and newspaper columnist. His contacts cover all sides of the political spectrum. Students will have a ringside seat to observe one of the most controversial political commentators in Chicagoland. Spring 2006: Assistant Professor Ann Marie Schuh has editorial published in the Chicago Sun Times on April 22, 2006 entitled "Bush's values bring governance reminiscent of Nixon era." Assistant Professor Christian Erickson has accepted a Fulbright V Day Roosevelt University 2006, a benefit production of Eve Ensler’s All proceeds benefit the Chicago Abused Women's Coalition and the Young V-Day is a worldwide movement to stop sexual violence against women and Tickets are $7 and may be purchased (or reserved) from the Office of The College of Arts and Sciences and The Department of Political Science and Public Administration Invite you to hear State Senator Emil Jones discuss Legislative Politics. The discussion will take place from 6 PM to 7 PM on Thursday, December 15, 2005 in room 244 of the Auditorium building. Every one is invited. There will be a reception following. This discussion would be appropriate for students in courses dealing with state and local public policy and politics.
