Certificate in Chemical Science
Department of Biological, Chemical, and Physical Sciences

The certificate in Chemical Science is a valuable adjunct to the undergraduate degree in Biology or Environmental Science, or can be completed for graduate credit by students holding a baccalaureate degree. The program is designed to enable students to enhance their foundation in the chemical sciences as part of their overall science program.

Prerequisites for the certificate program are completion of CHEM 101 and CHEM 202 (General Chemistry I and II) and CHEM 211 and CHEM 212 (Organic Chemistry I and II) with grades of C or better.

Courses may be selected from the menu below. At least 15 semester hours must be completed with a C or better to obtain the certificate. No transfer credit may be applied toward the certificate, and all courses must have been completed within five calendar years of the date the certificate is awarded.
