Human Resource Management M.S. Program Requirements
MSHRM | Walter E. Heller College of Business Administration

To earn an MSHRM from Roosevelt University, you must successfully complete the one-credit orientation course and at least 10 three-hour courses. Students take seven required courses and four elective courses.

Core Courses

  • BADM 401 Graduate Business Orientation
  • HRM 400 Strategic Issues in Human Resource Management
  • HRM 434 Employee Selection and Staffing
  • HRM 438 Compensation Management
  • HRM 493 Seminar in Human Resource Management
  • MGMT 407 Executive Leadership
  • MGMT 465 Organization Theory

Students with prior course work in Human Resource Management can petition to substitute a more advanced course with the approval of the program director.

In addition to the required courses, each MSHRM student will complete three topic elective courses. The topic elective courses are:

  • INFS 401 Information Resource Management
  • MGMT 403 Quantitative Analysis For Decision Makers
  • MGMT 423 Behavioral Science Systems For Management
  • MGMT 453 International Management and Leadership
  • MGMT 460 Team Building and Leadership Skills
  • MGMT 470 Organization Change and Development
  • TRDV 400 Foundations in Training & Development
  • TRDV 426 Organizational Communication I
  • TRDV 427 Organizational Communication II
  • PSYC 444 Industrial/Organizational Psychology

General Elective

Each MSHRM student will also take one general elective course. The student can select from the topic electives, any other Graduate Business course; any other Training and Development Course, or a different course that has been approved by the program director.
