Accounting M.S. Program Requirements To earn an MSA, students must successfully complete the one credit hour BADM 401 and 10 three hour courses. There are six core courses. Five electives are chosen to complete the requirements. Core Courses
Students with prior course work in Managerial Accounting and/or Accounting Information Systems can petition to substitute a more advanced course with the approval of the program director. Students entering with a non-business baccalaureate degree will have their prior course work evaluated. Based upon the evaluation, students may be required to take the Functions of Business course. Electives In addition to the required courses, each MSA student must complete five electives chosen from the remaining 400-level accounting classes (except for Acct 405). The electives include:
As an alternative, up to two elective courses may be taken outside the Accounting Department. The five elective courses are to be selected with the approval of the program director.
