Meet the Staff |
Presented to Sandra Dixon Jiles BSBA, ’71; MBA, ’77 In recognition of her significant record of lifetime achievement Since her years at Roosevelt, Sandra Dixon Jiles certainly has built an impressive success story from her many accomplishments as an astute business
woman. But beyond her professional excellence, her strides for the advancement of women are a testament to her noble ideals, and are a true inspiration
to us all. Sandra’s construction days began after college when she was hired as assistant director of United Builders Association, a government funded technical assistance program for minority contractors. During this time, she began a successful working relationship with two members of the management team, Paul King and Sham Dabadghao, who were seeking partners for a new business endeavor. And so UBM, Inc. was born. Sandra has also been recognized for her efforts on behalf of women and small businesses by organizations including Expo for Today’s Black Woman, The Renaissance Collaborative, Coalition for United Community Action, Women’s Business Center and Bank of America, and has been featured in articles in Black Enterprise, Ebony and Engineering News Record magazines. She also is a member of the Roosevelt University Alumni Board of Governors, the National Black MBA Association, the National Council of Negro Women and the Executives’ Club of Chicago. The legacy Sandra Dixon Jiles has made for herself is one we can all feel proud of. And with her ambition, vision and dedication, there’s no telling the heights she’ll achieve in the future. The Otto Wirth Award for Lifetime Achievement goes to an alumnus/alumna who exemplifies the Roosevelt University ideal of excellence through his/her significant record of lifetime achievement. |
