Meet the Staff |
Presented to Dr. Ludmila Lazar BM, ’63; MM, ’65 In recognition of her outstanding voluntary contribution through service to the University and the Alumni Association. To her admiring colleagues and students in Chicago, Ludmila Lazar is an esteemed professor and musician at the CCPA. But her intense musicality, stylistic versatility and reputation as a renowned musicologist have also propelled her to international acclaim. Anyone fortunate enough to have experienced Ludmila’s music knows her recitals and workshops reflect her involvement with diverse styles, particularly the multi-cultural influence on art music. Following her lifelong academic passion, she is actively pursuing the study of different folk traditions, including dance and song, as well as research on Viennese classics and their styles as influenced by dance and opera. Ludmila’s extraordinary talents have brought her across the globe. Her most recent engagements include master classes, lecture recitals at University of Rio de Janiero, Brazil, a presentation on the Pedagogy of Margit Varro at the EPTA (European Piano Teachers Association) Congress, recitals and lectures at the Millennium Congress in Budapest, and a lecture recital at the International College Music Society in Limerick, Ireland. Over the years, Ludmila has rightfully earned the highest of honors, holding a Master Teacher Certificate from the Music Teachers
National Association, as well as receiving the Roosevelt University Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award and being named to the Chicago Tribune’s
All-Star Professional Team. The Rolf A. Weil Distinguished Service Award goes to an individual who has made an outstanding voluntary contribution through service to the University and/or the Alumni Association. |
