Advising for Undecided Students Academic Advising and Assessment has handouts and other information available for students who are exploring possible majors at Roosevelt University. On-line sources that are available include: The Party - Look at this assessment tool to begin narrowing your choices! The results provide a three-letter code that corresponds to different majors and careers. Roosevelt University Majors by Holland Code - Use the results from The Party to find the majors at Roosevelt University that correspond with your three-letter code. Occupational Outlook Handbook (OOH) - Use this resource to research careers that look interesting to you. This site provides information on what the work entails; required education and training; advancement possibilities; earnings; job outlook; and related occupations. The Kiersey Temperament Sorter II - Use this instrument to identify your personality type. It is similar to the Myers- Briggs type indicator. The questionnaire identifies four personality types: Guardian (SJ), Artisan (SP), Idealist (NF), and Rational (NT). These four types are then broken down further to specify your personality. These personality types consist of a four-letter code. These codes are then used to narrow your major/career search. Faculty Directory - Use this directory to contact faculty members about careers in their area of interest. We also strongly recommend that you explore RU's Office of Career Services web site. They have a number of resources available to help students explore interests, values, and skills as they relate to the world of work. Choosing a major and/or a career can be a difficult and time-consuming task. Many times it helps to sit down with someone to map out a plan. Feel free to make an appointment with an academic advisor to begin this process.
