Cap and Gown Information for Graduating Students

What are the salute to graduates events?

Come to one of two open house–style events to pick up the materials and information you need to participate in Commencement.  Participation is NOT required.  If you are not interested in attending the ceremony, you do not need purchase a gown.  However, if you would like to purchase frames or rings, you may do so at these events.

• Your cap and gown (yours to keep!)
• Commencement information booklet

You also might choose to …

• Order graduation announcements and class rings. 
• Have your graduation portrait taken by a professional photographer from Grad Images. (Plan to dress accordingly. For more information about the photos, call Grad Images at 800-261-2576. 
• Participate in the raffle to win prizes!
• Mix and mingle with fellow graduates.
• Light refreshments will be served.

Costs (Without Tax)

If you wish to participate in the ceremony, you must purchase a cap and gown.
Bachelor’s cap, gown, tassel and stole:  $60.98
Master’s cap, gown and tassel:  $82.98
Doctoral cap, gown and tassel: Rental Fee $200.00 ( Regalia available for purchase.  Please contact Bookstore for more information)*

PLEASE NOTE

•  If you are unable to attend you may send a representative in your place to pick up your Commencement information booklet and cap and gown. This person must have your Roosevelt ID card or your ID number and birth date.
• Online or out-of-town students unable to attend the receptions: Please contact the Bookstore at 312-341-3592 for information. 
•  Keep in mind, grades won’t come out until after the ceremony.
• If you plan to participate in the ceremony, do not wait to purchase your cap and gown.

Regalia for Faculty

Faculty members who wish to purchase cap and gown attire for Friday, May 3, 2013 Commencement exercises must place their orders on the order form on the Intranet. You must be able to access the Intranet to place your order.

To ensure availability, all orders must be received by Monday, April 1, 2013.
Cap and gown orders will be available for pick-up at the:
