Fall 2014

Dear Colleagues, Associates, and Friends:

Our enrollment growth continues with over 25 students entering the program this fall.  The majority of new students are pursuing a Master of Science in Real Estate with the remainder pursuing the MBA/RE or the Graduate Credential.

For the seventh year the Institute awarded over $125,000 in scholarships.  The Goldie B. Wolfe Miller, Northern Builders, Roldan, Newman, Panovich and Fogelson funds are supporting multiple students.  Thank you to Chicago Association of REALTORS, Cushman & Wakefield, Hamilton Partners and Eisenberg Foundation for providing special scholarships.

After winning the Harold E. Eisenberg Foundation Midwest Real Estate Challenge in 2014 for the second year our student team will be honored at the October 6, 2014 Annual Foundation Dinner.  Our thanks to the Eisenberg Foundation for this recognition and CONGRATULATIONS ROOSEVELT TEAM!

Dr. Thomas W. Hamilton has joined our faculty as Professor of Real Estate and the Gerald W. Fogelson Distinguished Chair.  Tom previously taught at the University of St. Thomas and received a Doctor of Philosophy (1977) from the University of Wisconsin with a major in Real Estate and Urban Land Economics.

On November 13, 2014 the 13th Annual Real Estate Gala will take place at the Four Seasons Hotel.  Our Lifetime Leadership awardee is J. Michael Drew, Principal, Structured Development, who is developing the New City project.  Our keynote speaker is Howard A. Tullman, CEO, 1871 -- the high technology center in the Merchandise Mart.

Best Regards,
