Dear Colleagues, Associates, and Friends:
Our enrollment continues at about sixty students - making us one of the largest graduate real estate programs in the country. As the business world becomes more competitive there is an increasing demand for specialized knowledge and our programs reflect that. The majority of students are now taking the more specialized Master of Science in Real Estate with the remainder pursuing the MBA/RE or the Graduate Credential in Commercial Real Estate Development.
For the sixth year in a row the Institute distributed over $125,000 in scholarship funds. The Goldie B. Wolfe Miller Future Women Leaders, the Northern Builders Scholarship, and the Roldan Scholarship are all supporting multiple students. Other scholarships include the Newman, Panovich, Kahnweiler, Kennedy, Fogelson Foundation and Garrison Partners. We are accepting applications now for scholarships for fall, 2014 through June 30th.
After winning the Harold Eisenberg Foundation Midwest Real Estate Challenge in 2013, our student team has won again - the Real Estate 2014 Challenge - and will be honored at the October 6, 2014 Annual Foundation Dinner. The team was led by Dr. Sofia Dermisi and Adjunct Professors Dennis Harder and Jonathan Dennis. This year's challenge was to create a feasible redevelopment plan for the 1.4 million square feet former Marshall Field/Macy's warehouse complex. Our thanks to the Eisenberg Foundation for this recognition and CONGRATULATIONS ROOSEVELT TEAM!!
On April 3, LIFESCAPE: A Video Portrait of Marshall Bennett by artist Lincoln Schatz was unveiled and dedicated at Heller College and the Institute. The exhibit and event were organized by his daughter Bija Bennett and over 200 friends, associates and leaders gathered for the event. We are proud to be the home of this tribute to Marshall Bennett which is available for viewing from 8:30 - 6:00 Monday - Friday.
Please see other areas of this website for details on our many other activities and mark your calendars now for the November 13, 2014 Annual Real Estate Gala at the Four Seasons Hotel.
