Fall 2015

Dear Colleagues, Associates, and Friends:

The 14th Annual Real Estate Gala is taking place on November 5, 2015 at the Four Seasons Hotel.  Our honorees are Daniel T. McCaffery and Edmund C. Woodbury of McCaffery Interests - our congratulations to this fine firm celebrating its 25th anniversary.

Gerald D. Hines, Founder and Chairman, is joining us for the evening as a keynote speaker.  Hines founded his namesake firm in Houston in 1957.  Since then, the company has grown into a global powerhouse with more than 1,100 properties representing $84.9 billion of assets with locations in 185 cities in 19 countries.  Mr. Hines is credited with pioneering quality architecture as a new business model in commercial real estate.

Dr. David L. Funk has joined our real estate faculty as the newly appointed Pasquinelli Family Distinguished Chair in Real Estate. Dr. Funk was previously the director of the Baker Program in Real Estate at Cornell University in New York.  He joins Dr. Thomas W. Hamilton, who joined our faculty from the University of St. Thomas this past year, who is the Gerald Fogelson Distinguished Chair.  Both Dr. Funk and Dr. Hamilton earned their PhD's in real estate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

We had a record entering class of MSRE and MBA/RE students this fall of 2015 with total enrollment in the program over 50 students.  We are recruiting now for students who wish to start the MBA/RE or MSRE program in spring 2016 - the scholarship deadline is December 16th - apply NOW.

Thank you for your interest in the program.  Contact Latosha McKinney, Institute Coordinator (312-281-3269 or or me for more information.
