Pharmacist Mentor Program

Pharmacist Mentors provide structured professional and personal support for students during their Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) studies. As experienced professional pharmacists, Mentors will help guide a student’s individual development by creating a nurturing relationship that will:

  • Promote self-directed learning and continual professional development through inquiry.
  • Create an environment where the student feels at ease to discuss issues related to the profession as well as the educational program.
  • Allow students to share observations and provide thoughtful analysis to experiences related to the PharmD program.
  • Establish a communication network between other practitioners and organizations to enhance opportunities for pharmacy students.

The establishment of a strong and lasting relationship will provide a unique professional experience for both the Mentor and Mentee. Students will benefit from having someone outside the College to confide in and share their thoughts and experiences. Mentors will benefit by offering advice, wisdom and the chance to establish a lasting relationship with a PharmD student. The Pharmacist Mentor is a voluntary commitment.
