Professor John Fountain discusses importance of fatherhood in time for Father's Day

As Father’s Day approaches, John Fountain, professor of journalism at Roosevelt University, will be making a number of appearances on TV and radio shows to talk about his new book, Dear Dad: Reflections on Fatherhood and the important role that dads have in the lives of their children.

He will be a guest on NBC5 Chicago’s Weekend Morning News at 6:20 a.m. Sunday, June 12 and will appear on Perspectives with Monique Caradine on WPWR-TV’s “My 50” Channel  50 at noon on Sunday, June 12.
 
A weekly columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times and winner of a 2010 Lisagor award for his columns, Fountain is formerly a reporter with the New York Times, Washington Post and Chicago Tribune.

As a Roosevelt University professor, Fountain and a class of journalism students recently completed a convergence newsroom project entitled “Saving Our Sons.”   He will be discussing his social-justice community work and his book on Urban Praise with Erick David Townsend on Moody Radio Chicago’s AM 1110 at 3:30 p.m. Monday, June 13. Fountain also will be do an hour-long nationally broadcast cable television interview with Total Living Network host Jerry Rose from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Tuesday, July 19 on channel 138.
