Athletic Department Launches New Website - www.RooseveltLakers.com

Those looking for more information about the Lakers can now visit the official website of the Roosevelt Athletic Department, www.RooseveltLakers.com. The new site, developed in conjunction with SIDHelp, will provide all the latest news on the Lakers, along with up-to-date schedules, rosters, player and coach biographies and more.

“This site is a fantastic way for our department to provide our students, alumni and fans with in-depth information on our teams and student-athletes,” Athletic Director Mike Cassidy said. “It is also a great vehicle in the recruitment of prospective student-athletes, who can now get a true sense of our coaches and their programs with just a few simple key strokes.”

After 22 years without sports, this fall will mark the return of intercollegiate athletics at Roosevelt for men’s teams, while 2010-11 marks the first-time the University has sponsored women’s varsity programs. Men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s tennis and baseball will be the seven sports that will compete for the Green and White this season as NAIA members. The Lakers will add women’s volleyball in 2011-12 and then welcome four sports (men’s and women’s soccer, softball, men’s golf) in 2012-13.
