In London’s notorious East End, a magician entertains patrons by sawing a woman in half, while real murders take place on the streets outside. Set against the backdrop of the infamous Jack the Ripper murders in 1888, Ripper is part mystery, part tragedy, and part romance, yet ultimately a story of hope as the Dickensian characters attempt to triumph over the senseless acts of violence that plague society, then and now.
