Gioachino Rossini’s Il viaggio a Reims is a delightful comedy, commissioned for the 1825 coronation in Reims of French King Charles X. Although seldom performed, this opera has been celebrated as one of Rossini’s finest compositions. Take a journey with us to a luxurious spa-hotel, where you’ll meet an international gathering of larger-than-life personalities. Indulge in some of Rossini’s most enchanting music for the stage, and witness the love and intrigue of this hilarious farce.
This full production will feature the CCPA/Chicago Opera Theater Professional Diploma students and the graduate class of voice accompanied by the CCPA Opera Orchestra.

This concert is free and open to the public.
