Professor Embrick is a former American Sociological Association (ASA) Minority Fellowship Program Fellow and current Chair-Elect of the ASA Section on Race and Ethnic Minorities. Professor Embrick’s research are in the areas of U.S. race and ethnic relations, race and gender diversity, racial attitudes and racetalk. He has published in a number of journals including Sociological Forum, Race and Society, and the Journal of Intergroup Relations and is the author of an anthology (with Angela Hattery and Earl Smith), Globalization and America: Race, Human Rights & Inequality.
