Cradle to College Pipeline Summit at Roosevelt University
Friday October 15th & Saturday October 16th
The Mansfield Institute for Social Justice and Transformation (MISJT) at Roosevelt University will be hosting the Cradle-to-College Pipeline Summit in October. The main objective is to build an action plan that switches the current trajectory of a system that funnels poor and minority youth from the cradle to prison, to a trajectory that prepares tchildren for college and a successful adulthood. View Schedule [DOC]
This summit will be action oriented. It will build upon the incredible work already being done in Illinois as well as the work that must take place in order to move from crisis, to justice. Our true goals are those that will happen well after the summit. Collectively, we will work together with our community partners and youth leaders to create an action plan to achieve activism and policy reform necessary to dismantle the cradle to prison pipeline.
The Cradle to Prison Pipeline was inspired by the Cradle to Prison Pipeline initiative of Children's Defense Fund.
If you have questions, or are interested in participating in the summit or in collaborating with MISJT on how to dismantle the prison pipeline, please contact Mansfield Institute for Social Justice and Transformation.
