Chat Privacy Info
We do not require any personal or contact information to initiate a chat session, and you do not have to download any software to access our Chat service. However, the librarian might ask for your telephone number or e-mail address so that he or she can call or e-mail you in order to best work on more complex questions. The librarian might also ask whether or not you are affiliated with Roosevelt University in order to identify the most appropriate resources to answer your question.
Answering Your Question
The Chat with a Librarian service is staffed by reference librarians who respect your privacy. In the event that a question posed cannot be adequately addressed in an Chat session, we may ask whether we can contact you with an email or phone call.
Chat transcripts are stored on password-protected servers accessible solely by library staff. We access these transcripts to evaluate the quality of our service as well as for statistical purposes.
