Roosevelt Email Account

WHAT IS THIS?

A Roosevelt email account is provided to all faculty, adjuncts, and staff members, and most part-time employees. RU email addresses end with @roosevelt.edu. Settings common to all accounts:

• Mailbox size: 2GB
• Mailbox overage restrictions: If a mailbox reaches 2.1GB, the ability to send mail is disabled. If a mailbox reaches 2.2GB the ability to receive mail is disabled. All mail sent to the mailbox over 2.2GB is automatically returned to the sender.
• Maximum attachment size: 25MB. RU Files should be used to share large files.
• Deleted items emptied from mailbox retention: 30 days
• Webmail time-out: 30 minutes
• Passwords: Maximum age is 180 days. Passwords must contain at least 3 of the following 4 character types:
•     A letter
•     A digit
•     An uppercase letter
•     A special character (e.g., @#$%)

Webmail is the only supported and recommended way to access your mail when not on the Roosevelt network. The Webmail home page is: https://webmail.roosevelt.edu

WHO IS IT FOR?

All faculty, adjuncts, and staff members, and most part-time employees.  Departmental accounts may also be provided (see Departmental Email Account).

HOW DO I GET IT?

Accounts are automatically created when an eligible person is entered in Banner.

PASSWORD RECOVERY

Passwords can be reset and recovered by calling the Help Desk. Note, beginning June 1, 2013, passwords will not be reset over the phone. Instead, you should enroll in the Self-serve Password Recovery tool, http://password.roosevelt.edu. Doing so will allow you to recover/reset your password 24 hours a day.
