Welcome Class of 2014
On July 5, 2011, the inaugural class of 66 students arrived on the Roosevelt University Schaumburg campus to begin orientation prior to the start of classes on July 7, 2011.
With the enrollment of its first class in the summer of 2011, Roosevelt University will offer a professional program in pharmacy that will lead to the awarding of the Doctor of Pharmacy degree (PharmD). The PharmD is the single entry-level degree for the profession of pharmacy that is accredited by Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) and recognized by state boards of pharmacy for licensure. Roosevelt University has submitted an application seeking accreditation to the ACPE and will adhere to the Standards and Guidelines for the Professional Program in Pharmacy Leading to the PharmD. The College of Pharmacy has been granted Pre-Candidate Status by ACPE, and will receive its on-site evaluation for Candidate Status in April, 2012.
Roosevelt University will have the only college of pharmacy in the Midwest to offer an innovative, year-round curriculum. Students enrolled in the pharmacy program can earn their PharmD degree in three years, rather than the typical four years, enabling graduates to pursue post-graduate training or enter the job market one year earlier.
The curriculum will be taught by pharmacy scholars and practitioners, which will produce pharmacy graduates who are competent, committed, compassionate and prepared to successfully meet the challenges of the ever-changing healthcare marketplace.
The college is located on Roosevelt University’s Schaumburg Campus in Chicago's northwest suburbs. Questions about the College of Pharmacy can be sent to: cop@roosevelt.edu.
The first class of students in Roosevelt University’s new College of Pharmacy embodies the spirit that has always defined Roosevelt University.
Roosevelt's inaugural pharmacy class is made up of students from 15 states, and seven other countries.
