Brazilian Film Festival: "Uma Noite em '67"

The Brazilian Film Festival "Mostra III" comes to Roosevelt this weekend with two films with social justice themes. On Saturday, Nov. 10, at 5 p.m., see "Uma Noite em '67" (One night in 1967), the story of of a 1967 music festival that marked the explosion of Brazil's Tropicalia music movement. On Sunday, Nov. 11, at 4 p.m. see "Olga," a docu-drama based on the true story of a Brazilian communist who ends up in a concentration camp in Nazi Germany, where she gives birth to the son of a Brazilian revolutionary. Both films are free and will be shown in the WB612.

The showings are co-sponsored by the Mansfield Institute for Social Justice and the Evelyn T. Stone College of Professional Studies in conjunction with the Partners of the Americas, Illinois Chapter.
