John Cariani’s widely praised 2006 romantic comedy, Almost, Maine,is directed by Ray Frewen and will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Feb. 15 and 16, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 17 in the O’Malley Theatre.

All is not what it seems in the fictional town of Almost, Maine. The play, staged as a series of short vignettes, follows residents of the small town one starry winter night as they experience, in unpredicted and entertaining ways, the bliss and anguish of falling in and out of love. The New York Times has stated that Almost, Maine is “a whimsical approach to the joys and perils of romance. Magical happenings bloom beneath the snowdrifts”, and it has become the most produced play in North American high schools, overtaking William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
