Writing Workshop: Writing with Sources and Texts

Event Date: 03/05/2014
3:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Location: AUD 434

The English Composition Program is hosting a writing workshop on Writing with Sources and Texts. Are you writing an assignment that requires sources or assigned readings? It may seem tricky to effectively incorporate source/texts into your own writing in a way that stays true to the source, gives your audience the info they need, and focus on your own ideas and perspectives. This workshop will show you several strategies to cultivate a “conversation” between your ideas and your sources. We will discuss your motivations for using your sources/readings, introducing and summarizing texts, using quotes, and analyzing ideas from texts. Free and open to all students. Bring 1-2 sources/reading you’re working with in your class. For more information, contact Director of the English Composition Program Amanda Wornhoff at awornhoff@roosevelt.edu
