Affordable Care Act
On March 23, 2010, President Obama signed the health care reform bill, or Affordable Care Act (ACA), into law. The new Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (known as PPACA, ACA or Obamacare), primarily focused on reducing the uninsured population and decreasing health care costs, contains healthcare reforms that may impact you and your family.
These reforms are to be implemented over the next several years. The Office of Human Resources will keep you informed as to if and how these changes affect your benefits.
To assist you in understanding PPACA, we have provided notices and brochures below which follow a Q and A format to explain many of the act’s terms and features.
Should you have any questions or concerns regarding your benefits, please contact Clara Gong, Office of Human Resources (312-341-4332).
