Roosevelt University's 26th Annual Language and Literacy Summer Reading Clinic is designed to improve the reading skills of students in grades K-12. Enrollment is limited to thirty-five applicants. The teachers/coaches are graduate students completing their practicum courses for a Master's Degree in Reading. | |
WHAT |
Your child will be immersed in literacy experiences that include the following:
Finally, an emphasis on strategies to help children prepare for standardized testing situations will also be implemented. For example, how to manage 35 minutes in order to read a passage, answer multiple-choice questions and write a response. |

WHY |
Students are guided by Roosevelt University graduate students in small group settings and one-on-one instruction. Teachers select appropriate activities and materials to meet each individual student's needs. Whether your child is struggling with word recognition, comprehension, or is excelling in reading and wants to be challenged, the teachers will design a plan to fit him or her. | |
COST |
The cost for the Reading Clinic will be $475.00. If you are interested in enrolling your child, please fill out the linked online registration and mail a $150.00 deposit* check or money order made out to "Roosevelt University" to: Dr. Margaret Policastro If you would prefer to pay your deposit by credit card, please call College of Education Executive Secretary, Nancy Sondy, at (847) 619-8833. *Your deposit is refundable if you decide not to enroll before May 26th. The $325 balance is due by June 2, 2011. |
