Adolescent Literacy

Students enrolled in the MA in Teaching and Learning Program may obtain deeper knowledge about adolescent literacy through enrollment in an online, 18 credit hour concentration.  This concentration does not lead to licensure or an endorsement.  

The following three courses (9 credit hours) are required to earn the concentration.  All courses are online, and offered in the semesters listed below.

  1. ENG 467, Composition Theory  (Fall)
  2. READ 463, Teaching Language and Literacy in the Content Areas (Fall)
  3. READ 439, Young Adult Literature (Spring)  

Six credit hours (2 courses) may be chosen from the Bilingual/ESL Concentration.  Please consult the advisor below for more information.

The capstone course for this concentration is TLED 480, Inquiry in the Classroom.  It is offered online during the summer semester.
